Hello there … I want to introduce to you Uncle Pudd’s Cabin.

Here at the Wild Rose Ranch, our family have for 4 generations enjoyed the outdoors. Some of our favorite things are camping, fishing, and hunting.  Uncle Pudd’s Cabin is where you can experience the great outdoors to whatever extent you desire.  From resting under the shade of 150-year-old Pecan and Oak trees in a hammock as cool breezes wisp through your hair while you fight for a big one in a 40-year-old stocked fishing lake. We also offer three separate gun ranges and an archery range as well. Everything from rifles to archery is welcome.

Our facility is grandparent, elderly, handicapped, and kid-friendly. One of the main reasons we opened up this cabin to the public was to bring families together with nature.

Our private lake has Channel Catfish, Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gill, and Sun perch for all to drop a line and catch the big one.  This is a real working ranch with an abundance of wildlife, not to mention our domestic herds of Brangus Cattle, Dexter Cattle, Painted Desert sheep, miniature donkeys, horses, and one bossy, standard-size donkey who does not understand personal space named Donkey. We also raise poultry of all sorts from turkeys to Muscovy.

The opportunities are endless - grab the kids, call up the family and friends, and come enjoy a nice, quiet fun-filled weekend. Leave your troubles back at home and catch fireflies with the kids. Try your hand at smoking meat on a real wood-burning smoker. Sit by the campfire—roast marshmallows. Play horseshoes and corn hole all under the canopy of huge oak trees right next to the lake.  Watch the eyes of the kids open with excitement as they find arrowheads on the property and I hear tell … “There’s gold in them hills”.

It’s just an hour from the metroplex and we make it easy for you. No need to pack up all the camping supplies or worry about firewood, utensils, camping chairs etc.

We have everything you need from fire/cooking wood to outdoor games like glow-in-the-dark bowling.  There are over 100 acres you can explore. With terrain of all kinds.  Bring your horse, 4-wheeler, motorcycle, or side-by-side and blaze new trails. You can’t find another place as beautiful yet challenging and as convenient as Uncle Pudd’s Cabin. From wooptie do’s to mud holes you can concur it all.

The cabin and bathhouse are wheelchair accessible and although rustic the cabin does have a stove, refrigerator, a/c, and heat. Two twin over full comfy bunk beds and another full bed in an open floor plan. The bathhouse has an indoor/outdoor covered rain shower, toilet, and sink.  I call it “glamping” the kids call it fun!!!  There will be a concierge on the property at all times so if you need anything just holler!

Hope to see you soon!

Uncle Pudd's Cabin is located on the Wild Rose Ranch in Farmersville, Tx.

This ranch was founded by Adrian and Betty Sue Pitts in 1986. They started out with raising Brangus Cattle and Quarter horses but since, has expanded its operations to include Dexter Cattle and Painted Desert Sheep.

During ranch operations you might catch staff plowing pastures, moving cattle to new pastures or herding sheep with Chase, our Border Collie, and our newest addition, Gunner the German Shepard.

You never know what might be going on here at the ranch.
